Tree of Life
The Tree of Life is Transplant Manitoba’s Gift of Life special way of honouring organ donors, living donors, and their families. The Tree of Life is beautifully decorated with leaves that feature the donor’s first name and last initial. In addition to our traditional ceremony, each family present receives a donor medal. This beautiful medal acknowledges the kindness and generosity of all living donors, organ donors, and their families.
Garden of Life
The Garden of Life is an ever-growing symbol of the new life that is possible because of organ donation and transplantation. The Garden, situated in Assiniboine Park across from the Conservatory, is filled with almost 3,000 plants that depict the shape, color or care of the organs used in transplantation. This innovative public relations initiative was created in 1998 to heighten awareness of organ donation and transplantation in Manitoba. Volunteers, many of whom are transplant recipients and donor family members, lovingly maintain the Garden from May through September. Interested in volunteering? Call 204-787-1897 today!
